The initial visit includes an evaluation, exam and treatment. Expect this first visit to last almost 2 hours. Please bring shorts or wear loose pants.
Based on the evaluation, the follow-up visits are considered either "Focused Treatments" or "Comprehensive Treatments".
Focused (Basic) Treatment
This includes conditions such as acute injury, weight control and smoking cessation. The treatment focuses on one condition and is about 45 minutes.
These more complex, multiple conditions require a more comprehensive treatment. These also may require additional methods such as cupping, needle puncturing or electro-accupuncture. The treatment time is about 75 minutes.
Herbal medicine may be recommended as your treatment in conjunction with acupuncture or by itself.
Acupuncture may be covered by your insurance provider. Please check your insurance policy for details regarding coverage. We currently are in-network with United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Other insurance plans are pending.
To determine if acupuncture is right for you, we offer a free 15 minute consultation. After listening to your main health concerns and responding to some related questions, we will suggest treatment options that may include acupuncture, herbal medicine and other additional approaches.
If you choose to seek treatment, you will then be given a more in-depth evaluation, leading to a treatment plan. This includes a Health History Questionnaire to be completed on your first visit. If you wish, you can
download and fill out the attached questionnaire
and bring it with you or fill it out at the office.
